Lexington prides itself on the beauty of town land, the safety of its residents and the excellence of its public school system. The town has many wonderful neighborhoods, numerous parks, conservation lands, museums and libraries that provide exceptional opportunities for recreational and cultural activities. Whether you are looking for a single family home or a condominium you will be pleased with the quality of life.
Site of the first battle of the American Revolution, the famous "shot heard around the world" was fired here in 1775. Particular attention is given to preserving Lexington's strong historical importance as the birthplace of the American Revolution. The annual Patriot's Day celebration in April, complete with a re-enactment of Paul Revere's ride and the battle with the British, is one of the town's most popular events.
Lexington's citizens are active in town affairs through the representative town meeting government comprised of 199 members and over 50 standing committees.
Lexington has largely consumed its buildable land supply so there
is very little growth in available units as a result of building on new
land. What is happening now is largely tear-down and replacement of
houses and additions to existing homes. In large part the replacement
homes that are being built are large high end homes. This trend is
largely eliminating the small single family unit from the Lexington Real Estate market. If you are Selling a home in Lexington you should be aware of this and determine where your home is on this spectrum.
Lexington is a low crime suburb and there are many great neighborhoods to choose from when Buying a home in Lexington. Lexington's schools similarly are
excellent with all areas accessing a ‘local’ elementary school and then
funneling into one of two middle schools and finally the high school.
The many different neighborhoods offer access to different sections of the town’s resources. Some sections
have easy access to the town center, others offer convenient access to
the high school and town pool complex, still others are closer to main
traffic arteries and light industrial areas. Click here if you want more information on Lexington Condominiums.
